Katja Lau moved to Los Angeles in 1997 after finishing her studies in Communications- and Media science as well as in Anglistic at the Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany.
During her studies she also worked extensively at her journalistic career, starting in 1994 as a reporter for the radio stations Radio Essen and WDR and eventually becoming a reporter/producer for RTL where she produced news segments for the daily format RTL West.
In Los Angeles she worked as a producer for Peter Trunk Productions where she was responsible for covering movie junkets, premieres and the Golden Globe Awards, as well as other awards shows for several German TV stations, including ARD, RTL and Sat1.
In 2000 Katja Lau was hired by Paramount Pictures as a producer and director of the German language version of their successful show "Entertainment Tonight", which was broadcasted weekly on Germany’s Premiere World.
In 2002 Katja founded her own company. Based on her experience as a producer, her excellent knowledge of the Los Angeles area and California and her valuable contacts she took on many service productions for international clients, including Sat1, Arte and ZDF.
Katja also regularly produces TV segments for ARD and does live feeds for the German news channel N24.
